“ Arrived on a whim as it was one of the few food/pubs open on a Monday evening. I was greeted by a friendly bartender. There were a few beer on tap options, the usual basic beers like coors. There were a few more variety of cans available. Hoping to find some local options I found one that seemed legit. Coincidentally it also happened to be trivia night.. I've never played bar trivia. With it being free fun, I couldn't refuse. I had a fun time, although the crowd was several decades younger than myself. I ordered the cheesesteak and fries to go. The fries were very good and well seasoned. The sandwich was too salty. I did appreciate the real cheese and the meat was cooked well. I would try another menu item... but hopefully with less salt. ”
“ I stumbled upon this absolute GEM of a Pub & Grill almost by accident... Fishing and hiking my way around northwest Montana, I had no intention of going down to Butte. As fate would have it, I took a wrong turn coming out of Missoula and ended up in the mining City of Butte. Was 6:30pm by the time I got off of the Interstate. Naturally, my first priority was food and something to quench my thirst. I perused my Google Maps and had a not so short list of 7 or 8 places. Eventually I ended up at "Homestake" and this was No "mistake"..... Walking up to this business, I felt like this was going to be my kind of pub/grill establishment since I love the unassuming, neighborhood, hole-in-the-wall kind of places... The food & service here is excellent. If you go out the back, there is a large covered patio area which must be used for events. There is also a small games area that includes an immaculate shuffleboard & vintage, standup arcade games. I try to be critical as possible to find flaws with each business that I review. It was very difficult to find any reasonable issues going on in this place... Along with the Pin & Cue of Whitefish, I could see the Homestake Pub becoming another must stop for me, whenever I start roaming the state of Montana. No doubt that I will be a returning patron here. Bottom Line: 9.4 out of 10 ”
“ My wife chose this place because they offered a salad, and knew that I love Reubens (it’s even in my bio!) I couldn’t have been more pleased with this selection. Drew was an awesome server, and very attentive, without being overbearing. He had some great advice, and offered things before we needed to ask. I had to go with the Reuben, and I’m sure glad I did! They start with a perfectly crisp, but not greasy, marbled rye to hold a perfect amount of sauerkraut, melted cheese, and thousand Island. The star of the show is the corned beef. Prepared in-house, this slab of uniformly sliced, amazingly tender corned beef filled the sandwich from edge to edge. The exact proportion of ingredients made for a rare occurrence-the sandwich stayed intact throughout the eating experience. This sandwich will likely be in my top 3 for the foreseeable future. I just wish I didn’t live 4.5 hours away! If you find yourself in Butte, and you like Reubens, don’t miss Homestake Pub. Also, the salad was thoroughly enjoyed by my wife. I’m looking forward to trying the Reuben appetizer on my next visit! ”

“ Hands down the BEST cheese curds in Butte and probably the whole state of Montana!!! I say that as someone originally from Wisconsin, so I know good curds when I taste them! Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and absolutely addictive! Their burgers are also excellent, but I can't get over the curds since they bring me straight back home! Highly recommend!!! ”

“ This perfect place has everything you could ever ask for. We've been coming in for around a year now. The food is great (my favorite is their chicken philly)- but there's not one bad dish we've tried on the menu. Beer selection is great- there's something for everyone. Most of all- the people here are awesome. We've never waited for anything- and haven't ran into a bad waiter/waitress, period. It's also cool that the owners are usually around- and they come out and talk with you and make sure everything is perfect. They're all great people too, which is an added bonus. Summertime- it's great to sit out on their patio with a nice cold beer and just relax and take in the sunshine. It's definitely a perfect restaurant in every way.
